We know this is extremely late but with the Holidays and some additional travel we are just now getting around to posting 2009 Christmas photos and videos. Some good stuff to follow.
2009 KENTUCKY CHRISTMAS
Adyson and Debbie spent a week in Kentucky (Dec. 20-27) and had a wonderful time. Brian joined us on Christmas Eva. Once Adyson warmed up to everyone she had a blast playing with all her cousins and Aunts. She was the hit of the Holidays. However, she got an ear infection on the airplane ride there. Thanks to Aunt Teresa and Dr. Tomecko’s staff we were able to get her some medicine within a few hours and on her way to feeling better.
Christmas Day was spent with my immediate family at Mom and Dad’s. We had a nice time with all the gift exchanges and fellowship. The highlight was watching the kids open all their presents. Everyone got a kick out of Adyson tearing one stripe off at a time and having to hand it to someone before continuing to tear into her gifts. She got so, so much more than she needed. We are thankful to have such caring and giving family.
Adyson was most thrilled with her Elmo bag and PJs from ma and pa and a shopping cart and groceries from Aunt Teresa as well as her Bible books and Dora music book from Aunt Shell and Brandy. She plays with these toys and reads daily.
To tip things off ma and pa got Adyson a BIG Rocking Pony, very cute and fun. However, it was too big to carry back on the plane with us, so we decided to ship it home not thinking it would cost more than $50. Well, $100 later we are still waiting for the Pony to arrive in Dallas. Hopefully it will arrive any day now?
The day after Christmas, we all went up to Karen’s for Grandma Key’s Christmas. It was here that Adyson got the hang out with the entire Key crew. Her and Molly (Karen’s youngest) hit it off as they colored and played in Molly’s room most of the time. By early afternoon, Adyson was so worn out as she crawled up into mommy’s lap and fell asleep, which she had never done before.
The funniest thing on the whole trip was Adyson’s and Bam-Bam love-hate relationship. Bam-Bam is Monica’s small house dog (see photo). Adyson so dearly wanted to touch and play with him but wouldn’t have any part of it when Bam-Bam approached her… she ran directly to anyone that would pick her up and away from him.
As the week went on, she got more comfortable and less scare around him so on Saturday night, the night before we leave to come home, Adyson decides she wants to be friends so she patted Bam-Bam, which led to a hug. It was so, so sweet and Adyson was so proud of herself. After that, Bam-Bam was afraid of her!
Brian has always been the one to get very nervous and uptight when Adyson flies with us. I just go with the flow and deal with whatever happens. He tends to worry about the “what ifs” to much. Needless to say the flights home were booked solid, except for one seat on both legs. The Lord was watching over Brian as we were blessed to get both empty seats. We also got the first row, which provides more leg room and a walkway for Adyson. She was an angle as she greeted nearly everyone that boarded the plane.
We had a fabulous time with our loved ones and will miss everyone greatly.
Enjoy all the videos and photos!!!
