Christmas Program Video

Yes, it's been a LONG time since I've posted anything to Adyson's blog but I promise I have most of it written down (somewhere). It just hasn't made it's way to the world wide web, yet.

However, the following videos are from Adyson's Christmas Program at Miss Bloomingdales's last night. They are just way to cute not to post.

Enjoy and Happy Holidays.

Mom tries to blame me on not having any updated video, but its really NOT my fault - nothing ever is!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, I have finally made time to upload some new video of our Little Miss Ady. One would think the older she gets the more "free" time I would have, NO NOT REALLY. The bigger she gets the busier I am. OMG!!!

The videos range from last March to just last month so you'll get a wide variety of footage to watch.

Enjoy!!!

BIRTHDAY #2

Well Adyson turned 2-years old Sunday! I can remember those three pushes that brought her into this world as if it was yesterday. Boy, has things changed since July 11, 2008.

Adyson is truly a blessing from God as she is an incredibly sweet, loving and smart 2-year old. She loves her family as well as her puppy, Paws. Ady is moving up in school as she starts the 2-year class next week (Monday, July 19). She already knows her ABCs and can count to 10, which the exception of leaving out No. 7. But, what is most impressive to us is that she already speaks in 3-4 word sentences "Mom, I get it", "No, my turn mom," "Dad, swing me," and "I want to walk Paws" are just a few that comes to mind.

She is in the "I want to do it myself" stage and is very indepentant (like her mother). She insist on brushing her teeth when we are brushing ours of a morning/night. She's actually got it down pretty well, except for the spitting it out part.

The following are photos of Adyson's Birthday Parties at home, Miss Bloomingdales and in Kentucky.

Adyson 2nd Birthday Party
We had a small group of family and friends over to the house to celebrate Adyson's
2nd birthday on Sunday, July 11. Everyone enjoyed watching the kids play and jump around in the bouncie ring, that was located in the garage since is was so hot in the sun.

Those who celebrated with Adyson were:
Lynn (aka Grammy) & Meredith Davis
Ann Spain, Dorothy Rupe (aka - Grandmommy)
Angela, Ashtyn and Ava Crabtree
John, Kelly and Allie Grubbs
Jennifer, Brady and Benji Wills
Mike, Kaleigh and Mason Hefner
Catrina Gibson

Here are some photos from her party (video will come later):

At Miss Bloomingdales Academy
Friday (July 10): Mommy went up to Miss Bloomingdales, after nap time, and surprised Adyson and her classmates with Elmo cupcakes and party favors. She also brought Elmo hats as the class song Happy Birthday to Adyson. Adyson and Maddie (her BFF) had a blast with the icing and Elmo hats, however, Adyson was NOT a fan of Elmo hats. Mommy was only able to get two pictures of Adyson wearing an Elmo hat, two more than she got at her actually party.

In Kentucky
Before Adyson turned 2, we took advantage of the "kids under 2 fly FREE" so we headed to Kentucky June 17-20. There she got to hang out with all of Debbie's family and enjoyed every minute of it. Pa actually tired to get her on a horse (Na, as she calls them), while Ma threw her an early Birthday Party. Even though she would get on a horse, volunteraly, she couldn't get enough of seeing one. Adyson wore her cousins and Aunt Shell out walking back-an-forth to the barn to see the horses.

Best Friends At Last!

It's been a little over two months since Paws (formerly known as Cowboy) made the journey to Texas to live with Adyson. He was a special gift from Pa and Ma as well as Aunt Shell and Brandy.

It was rough going at first. Adyson would cry, or run to mommy or daddy, every time Paws came near her. This just confused poor little Paws as he thought everyone should enjoy his nibbles with his sharp little teeth.

After several weeks of "PAWS NO BITE, NO BITE" from Ady (& daddy), he started laying off her fingers and arms and they became friends. The bonding started on our daily walks as Adyson was determined to show her dog off to the neighbors. Our walks now consist of Mommy walking Paws and Adyson pushing baby in her new baby stroller. This turns A LOT of heads and causes everyone to smile.

Adyson reguarly gets up at 7 a.m. and heads straight to our bed and demands that Paws gets on the bed too. It's so sweet when she gives him morning kisses and when she tells him to go pee... "Paws, Pee-Pee", while clapping her hands. Adyson gets another big kick out of taking a bath with Paws.

However, the two remain extremely jealous of one another when it comes to mommy time. Adyson can't stand it when Paws is in mommy's lap and Paws always tries to jump in mommy's lap when Adyson is planted there.

Paws continues to chow on everything (furnture, clothes, towel, toys, etc.) but his favorite toys have ended up being an OU mini basketball, his blue blanket and one of Brian's childhood toys (which I didn't know was a childhood toy when I give it to Paws - my bad).

The following are some pictures of Adyson and Paws playing together. Turns out Adyson likes Paws' dog food, too.

Mother's Day & Toddler Bed Day

Today is MOTHER'S DAY and I had a fabulous time with Brian and Adsyon. We slept in, then went to Aunt Ann's for lunch, followed by spending the evening at home with BD and Ady. I also educated myself on my new i-Phone I got from Brian. Adyson already knows how it works for the most part. We tried giving her the i-Touch to play with but she knew the difference.

After a nap and a few errands, Brian and I decided to convert Adyson's crib to a toddler bed. Mainly because she has learned how to get out of the crib by herself pretty quickly. We've actually been discussing it for a past few weeks but just decided to do it.

I have to admit, I was VERY, VERY nervous about it. After Brian put her to bed I followed up to make sure she was "in bed" and the photos below show where she was. Looks like we'll be getting a bed guard.

Spring time Pics to Enjoy

The following is a slideshow of Adyson's most recent photo shoot. There are two additional photo galleries to the right under Adyson's Photo Galleries. The following spring shots are from an area in Las Colinas close to Adyson's school and Debbie's work. The galleries to the right are blue bonnet pics in a field near our house in Irving and our local park.

She continues to get smarter (and more demanding) with each day. She's well on her way to putting together a complete sentence, as she's already using 2-3 words with ease. Her favorite is "NO MAMA NO"... trying to let me know she wants to be in charge (not so much).

Elmo reminds her favorite character, while my i-phone has become her favorite new toy... Brian doesn't like that too much... he says "give her the i-touch" to play with... how many 21-month old can say they have an i-touch?

Some of Adyson's other favorite things to do right now is:

* Feed her baby dolls and put them to sleep

* Watch Elmo videos while sitting closely to mom/dad (if not in our lap)

* Saying, "No Paws No"... she walks into Miss Bloomindales (school) nearly every morning saying that

* She's suddenly started feeling very shy of strangers and continues to have a bad case of separation anxiety with mom.

* SIDENOTE: Got bit for the first time at school... actually two times in two days... April 14-15... Resulting in her trying to bit mom to show her feelings… tantrums have become more frequent.

Adyson Has A Playmate, and it's not a baby!

Two weeks ago Adyson got a pretty big present from my family in Kentucky, a five-month old Shih Tzu puppy. Brian and I wasn't to fired up about it at first just because of all the additional responsibilities that it would placed upon us but as the days have gone by he has brought added joy, smiles and laughs to our family.

THE NAME
The first task at hand was what to name him. He came to us as Cowboy but we wasn't for sure about it because Ady kept calling him COW. She also keep referring to him as "Pa's Dog" Pa's Dog" when she saw him. So, we decided to call him PAWS (for Pa's Dog), it was also suggested by Auntie Cat. It's taken off and she's loving it.

COMIN' AROUND
It has taken Ady two weeks to really become friends with Paws. This past weekend was a huge advancement in their relationship. One, I wrapped up all my March basketball travel and had time to spend with the two of them together. We went for a walk one afternoon and Adyson suddenly wanted to hold the leash and kept saying "Walk Pas" "Walk Pas"... so I let her. She did an fabulous job with him except when she wiped out about 25 yards to the house and scrapped her fingers up as she was holding the leash when she fell.

BATH TIME IS A DIFFERENT STORY
Well, I have to be the first to admit I was shocked it took 45-plus minutes to give Paws a bath that included prep brushing/combing, bathing, brushing/combing and drying, then brushing/combing again. Paws will always have a short "puppy cut". I couldn't handle the traditional long hair of a Shih Tzu. I don't know how people do it!

CHECK-UP TIME COMING
Paws goes for his first vet appointment next week. It just for a general exam, and to implant a tracking chip into. I also think he has skin allegories. He's already had his first grooming session (hair and nails cut) and they said he did great! Aunt Michelle and Brady did a great job in getting him use to a bath, people and being touched.

He's a very, very cute puppy and is actually already housetrained (mostly) and is really easy train. He already knows sit. Stay is the next command.

The following are a couple of videos of Adyson and Paws on afternoon walks.
Enjoy!!!

Easter Eggsapalooza 2010

Ady and Brian were on their own for Easter Sunday this year (4/4/2010) as Debbie was in San Antonio for the Women's Final Four. If you're going to hold an Easter egg hunt, our little angel wouldn't care if we were both in Egypt. She's a maniac when hunting for Easter eggs, as the video will show.

Brian and Ady both went to his family's house in Mesquite for an Easter dinner. During that time, we tried to get some photos taken in Aunt Ann's backyard. But Ady was more concerned with avoiding Max (Ann's dog) and not getting dirty.

But that was just the warm-up act. We hustled over to Plano to attend Brady Wills' 2nd birthday. It was there that Ady got to participate in an Easter egg hunt. She was very impressive by hustling on the sloped front yard. Even some of the other parents noted, "Oh, Ady looks like a egg-hunting professional." Yes, she was.

One other note, Brady had an Elmo-themed birthday party. Everything had Elmo on it in some form or fashion. Three words to describe Ady's reaction upon seeing all this: Oh. My. God.

Snowing on Adyson's 19-month birthday!

Well, we woke up to about 3 inches of snow this morning (Thursday) and, for Dallas, that's a lot. Before we headed off to school and work, Adyson wanted to check-it-out. At first she just looked at it and laugh as it fell to the ground. But, she finally worked up the courage to venture into the white blank that covered our side yard. That video is located in Adyson's Video Library to the right (Snow Day_Pt1_Feb'10).

The following video and photos are of us playing in the front yard after we all got home Thursday afternoon. Ady had a blast as she kept saying "SNO-SNO" (snow) and "PANE-pane" as planes pass by overhead (they were really low due to the snow clouds). By the time Friday morning rolled around Dallas had gotten 12.75 inches and our power was out!

HAPPY 19-MONTH BIRTHDAY ADYSON!!!

There are 6 new videos in the video library to the right. Enjoy!!!

Here's a photo gallery of us playing in the snow later Thursday afternoon.

2009 Christmas

We know this is extremely late but with the Holidays and some additional travel we are just now getting around to posting 2009 Christmas photos and videos. Some good stuff to follow.

2009 KENTUCKY CHRISTMAS

Adyson and Debbie spent a week in Kentucky (Dec. 20-27) and had a wonderful time. Brian joined us on Christmas Eva. Once Adyson warmed up to everyone she had a blast playing with all her cousins and Aunts. She was the hit of the Holidays. However, she got an ear infection on the airplane ride there. Thanks to Aunt Teresa and Dr. Tomecko’s staff we were able to get her some medicine within a few hours and on her way to feeling better.

Christmas Day was spent with my immediate family at Mom and Dad’s. We had a nice time with all the gift exchanges and fellowship. The highlight was watching the kids open all their presents. Everyone got a kick out of Adyson tearing one stripe off at a time and having to hand it to someone before continuing to tear into her gifts. She got so, so much more than she needed. We are thankful to have such caring and giving family.

Adyson was most thrilled with her Elmo bag and PJs from ma and pa and a shopping cart and groceries from Aunt Teresa as well as her Bible books and Dora music book from Aunt Shell and Brandy. She plays with these toys and reads daily.

To tip things off ma and pa got Adyson a BIG Rocking Pony, very cute and fun. However, it was too big to carry back on the plane with us, so we decided to ship it home not thinking it would cost more than $50. Well, $100 later we are still waiting for the Pony to arrive in Dallas. Hopefully it will arrive any day now?

The day after Christmas, we all went up to Karen’s for Grandma Key’s Christmas. It was here that Adyson got the hang out with the entire Key crew. Her and Molly (Karen’s youngest) hit it off as they colored and played in Molly’s room most of the time. By early afternoon, Adyson was so worn out as she crawled up into mommy’s lap and fell asleep, which she had never done before.

The funniest thing on the whole trip was Adyson’s and Bam-Bam love-hate relationship. Bam-Bam is Monica’s small house dog (see photo). Adyson so dearly wanted to touch and play with him but wouldn’t have any part of it when Bam-Bam approached her… she ran directly to anyone that would pick her up and away from him.

As the week went on, she got more comfortable and less scare around him so on Saturday night, the night before we leave to come home, Adyson decides she wants to be friends so she patted Bam-Bam, which led to a hug. It was so, so sweet and Adyson was so proud of herself. After that, Bam-Bam was afraid of her!

Brian has always been the one to get very nervous and uptight when Adyson flies with us. I just go with the flow and deal with whatever happens. He tends to worry about the “what ifs” to much. Needless to say the flights home were booked solid, except for one seat on both legs. The Lord was watching over Brian as we were blessed to get both empty seats. We also got the first row, which provides more leg room and a walkway for Adyson. She was an angle as she greeted nearly everyone that boarded the plane.

We had a fabulous time with our loved ones and will miss everyone greatly.

Enjoy all the videos and photos!!!
